Emma Raducanu reached the third round in three out of four Grand Slams during the season.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain has pulled out of the last two tournaments this season because of a medical condition she has been fighting in recent days.

Raducanu, aged 22 was due to play in events in Asia but opted to return home to regain her health prior to beginning next year's training.

Her upcoming training are set to feature trainer Francisco Roig, as they will keep partnering in 2026.

Raducanu had her blood pressure taken in her opening round versus Ann Li in Wuhan last week and stopped playing when losing 6-1 4-1 on an oppressively humid day.

She needed once more a doctor's assessment at the Ningbo Open this week, where she was defeated in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in round one.

Her movement was far from freely in the final set against Zhu due to the lower back problem that has affected her during parts of the season.

Such performances signaled a promising season, in which Raducanu rose into the world's top 30 after more than three years for the first time since 2022, finished with a trio of defeats.

Raducanu had three match points before losing to Pegula in the third round in the Beijing tournament last month.

The player achieved 28 victories this year and made it to the semi-final round in the Washington tournament, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami event in March.

The British number one advanced to the quarters of the WTA 1000 event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed during the tournament before losing in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

She was coached by Mark Petchey from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig taking over in time for the US Open.

The original arrangement with the former trainer of Nadal was for the remainder of the year but the collaboration persists, with planned training sessions late this year.

Raducanu told that a three-day test period alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as they tried to keep the meeting secret.

She came very close to beating world number one Aryna Sabalenka at their initial event as a team in Cincinnati in August.

The coach also accompanied Raducanu in New York, where she made the third stage then falling to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
