Arne Slot admitted that it's expected for concerns to be raised about his future following another heavy loss versus PSV Eindhoven.

The Reds endured their ninth loss in 12 games, representing the club's poorest run after being demoted in the 1953-54 season.

They were taken apart by the Dutch league champions on a difficult evening at Anfield.

“I'm confident, I'm fine, I've received plenty of backing from above,” Slot remarked.

“It's important to reverse this trend and secure a win obviously but when you're working as a coach and not doing well then it's typical that people question you.”

He continued, “I'm comfortable with my situation. It is not the first time I've found myself in a challenging situation but it is about time that we changed our fortunes.”

Talks with Club Management

When asked to elaborate on his discussions with the Liverpool hierarchy, the head coach explained:

“There's regular dialogue. They assist for the squad and for me and those talks happen but they aren't calling me every single minute of the day to say they have faith in me.”

He mentioned, “During our regular discussions I perceive the belief. But I haven’t spoken to them after this game yet so it remains to be seen.”

Persistent Issues and Player Response

Slot highlighted recurring weaknesses from his Liverpool side in their European loss, specifically missed opportunities and leaking goals.

Meanwhile, player Jones was more direct in his evaluation of the current crisis.

“I don’t have the solutions. Frankly, I don’t. I’m saying that to everyone,” Jones stated.

“It is not good enough. I don’t even need to wait to consider it. I’m past being angry inside. I've reached the stage currently where I just don’t have the phrases.”

He went on, “It's tough because I play for the club I love. I’m a fan, and I've watched Liverpool since I was young.”

“In recent memory, I haven’t experienced a Reds side going through a period like this with results like these.”

He concluded, “But we still have the emblem on our shirts. And until it is removed, we will always fight.”

“We’re going to try to help the side back to where it needs to be, show everyone once more the values of this club and why it's known as the greatest side in the planet.”

“But right now, things are bad and we have to turn it around.”
