Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match winning run was ended by the Black Cats prior to the international break, but will the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked soccer expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' new record, the new release, is available on Friday.

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of multiple Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not planning a professional return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, Madison and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their Saturday soccer team," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our team for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their offense is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be quite tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

It suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

Olly's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' only away victory this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's coach.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a several people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four games.

My son advised me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will probably score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much success on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are consistently strong at their stadium. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many goals but it in reality turns out to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six games.

Fulham have have lots of talent in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.

The away side's performance in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to support the visitors here, because they are obviously able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the close of October.

However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to carry on opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a poor run... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but could they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
